The 4th Eastcote Scout Group is delighted to celebrate an extraordinary milestone as Bob was formally recognised for an incredible 70 years of service to Scouting. The award was presented during the District’s St George’s Day event at Ruislip Lido, where volunteers, young people, and families gathered to honour Scouting’s patron saint and celebrate the achievements of dedicated leaders across the area.

Bob’s moment in the spotlight was met with warm applause from the crowd, many of whom have known him through decades of camps, parades, and weekly meetings. His contribution to Scouting spans generations, and his steady presence, encouragement, and commitment have shaped the experiences of countless young people. Leaders from across the District spoke of Bob’s unwavering dedication and the example he continues to set for volunteers today.

The celebration also included a proud moment for 4th Eastcote as Simon was awarded the Order of Merit, recognising his outstanding service and exceptional contribution to Scouting at both group and district level. His commitment, leadership, and support for young people have made a significant impact, and the award reflects the high regard in which he is held by fellow volunteers.

The St George’s Day gathering provided the perfect backdrop for these remarkable honours—an event rooted in tradition, community, and the values that both Bob and Simon embody through their service. As they accepted their awards, there was a clear sense of gratitude and admiration from everyone present.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Bob and Simon on their exceptional achievements. Their dedication stands as a testament to the power of volunteering and the lasting impact individuals can have on a community. Their legacy will continue to inspire Scouts and leaders for many years to come.
